Despite the title, Buddy Complex is not some comedy buddy cop anime. Rather, it's the latest homoerotic giant robot anime from Sunrise. The makers of memorable shows such as Code Geass, Gundam, and Valvrave have now given us the mediocre, effortless, and nonsensical Buddy Complex. The two main "buddies" of the show consist of Aoba Watase and Dio Weinberg who frequently perform "coupling" in their giant robots via the buddy system. And like all
other mecha shows, downtime allows for hanging out in front of the vending machines (where lemon is always an option).
